We All Love Taylor.
So Let’s Make a Book.
By fans. For fans.
This book is a tribute to Taylor,
but she is not involved in its creation.
To help us create TAYLOR SWIFT: THIS IS OUR SONG, we enlisted thirteen Swifties (also known as our “Ambassadors”) from across the country who know and love Taylor and her music. Learn more about them below!
Mallory Arnold has been a Swiftie for ten years. It all started when she was nine, watching the country channel’s Top 20 Countdown with her dad. She would always get excited when one of Taylor’s songs was featured, and a decade later she still feels that same child-like thrill whenever someone so much as mentions the twenty-six-year-old cat lover. Taylor is the reason she learned to play guitar, the reason she lives for great music, and above all, the reason she is a dreamer. She lives in Nevada.
Taylor Compton is 18 years-old and a student at the University of Georgia. She’s a Taylor Swift enthusiast, the #1 supporter of the bridge of Out Of The Woods, and a lover of football, summertime, and guitars. She once met the sweetest woman on the earth, Andrea Swift, and still hasn’t recovered. She will forever be obsessed with Taylor’s ACM performance of “Should’ve Said No”, everything about “Fearless,” the entirety of Speak Now, the fact that RED gave us “IKYWT,” “State of Grace,” and “All Too Well,” and every sparkly minute of the 1989 era!
Emma Dugan is 14 years-old, born on November 13—National Swifties Day! She lives in Chicago, Illinois, and has been a Taylor fan since the Speak Now era. She’s excited to be a part of this project; Taylor has inspired so many people and she thinks it’s amazing that the fans are joining together to give back to her. Don’t forget to always dream impossible things, because sometimes dreams do come true!
Kelsey Eihausen is 16 years-old and am from Nebraska. She has been a fan of Taylor’s since 2007, and loves her for of her kindness, confidence, and talent in both singing and songwriting. She has proved herself to be amazing role model to young girls. She knows that she’ll be a Swiftie forever and always.
Ashley Friedman is a 27 year-old Chicago native and runs Swiftcast, the only weekly Taylor Swift talk show sharing the latest news and opinions with Swifties all over the world. While it was Taylor’s music that initially drew her into the fandom, 9 years and 30+ concerts later it’s the amazing people she’s met along the way through Taylor that have changed her life the most.
Dan Gibson is 23 years-old, from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. He has loved Taylor Swift since her debut album! In addition to her beautiful voice and incredible song-writing abilities, he believes she is an inspirational role model for adults and youth alike, and that she represents everything that is positive in life. He will continue following her journey and imagine we are best friends – if only in his wildest dreams!
Livia Jahn is 15 years-old and lives in Indiana. She has a huge passion for art in general, whether its music, paintings, or people. She finds beauty in everything, but has a special place in her heart for writing. Taylor’s lyrics and ambition has influenced her since she was seven, and she has no plans of retiring from being a full time Swiftie anytime soon.
Carlee Langham is 7 years-old. She was born in Germany but now lives in Maryland. Her favorite thing to do is listen, sing, and dance to music—especially by Taylor Swift. Her baby brother is her best friend. Even though she has never seen Taylor in concert, she started listening to her in her mommy's belly. Taylor’s music has taught her that life is perfectly imperfect, and that sometimes you just have to “shake it off.”
Anna Perillo is 22 years-old, and was born and raised on Long Island, NY. Last year she graduated from Siena College with a degree in Biology, and the year before that, her dream to meet Taylor Swift came true when she invited her to NYC for the live announcement of 1989. They danced to “Shake It Off”…in her kitchen! Taylor is not just a talented songwriter and imaginative performer; she has a heart of gold and she treats her fans like close friends. Anna vows to be a Swiftie for life for this reason, and many others.
Kelsey Quitschau is 23 years-old and lives in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Taylor’s first album came out when Kelsey was 14, and she grabbed onto the words that she sang, and almost ten years later, still hasn’t let go. Kelsey says that it’s been an amazing journey to watch Taylor grow in her career and even more amazing to watch her develop as a person. The way that she lives her life is something everyone can learn from. Kelsey’s original artwork and coloring pages can be found throughout Taylor Swift: This is Our Song.
Mikayla Scanlan-Cubbege is a student at CSULB in Southern California. Her love for Taylor began with “Tim McGraw,” which she discovered when she was eight years-old. She remembers begging her mom for more time on the computer so she could look up more and more videos on YouTube of the girl named Taylor Swift. From there, she was hooked. It was one song that got started her life as a Swiftie, but it was her beautiful personality that made her stay.
Alyssa Walters is 19 years-old, and has been a huge fan of Taylor’s since she was eight years-old. She grew up in Minnesota but is now attending college in Miami, Florida. She is a huge fan of Taylor’s music but also loves that she has given others the courage to go after their dreams. The Swifties have become one huge family all thanks to her, and Alyssa is so thankful for the wonderful people she has met in this community.
